JBS Prize
Quality Education
The Genesis of JBS Prize
Jeevan Bikas Samaj, Morang is a non-governmental organization. The Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND) awarded it with the "AGFUND International Prize 2017" worth $300,000 (USD) through a global competitive process for its remarkable work in the field of Quality Education under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Nepal.
Adding its own microfinance resources to the international prize money, JBS established the "Jeevan Bikas Samaj Sustainable Development Fund 2076" worth NPR 6 Crore. Through this permanent fund, an annual prize of NPR 10 Lakh — the "JBS Prize for Sustainable Development" — is awarded to NGOs, community educational institutions, and journalists who have made notable contributions toward Nepal's SDG targets.
